Global Xiaomi 18 Pro and Pro Max have been Confirmed, but Xiaomi is doing the battery-shrink thing again. Tipster Kacper Skrzypek found battery entries in HyperOS code for the international Xiaomi 18 Pro and Pro Max, and neither matches what launched in China on September 23.
Global Xiaomi 18 Pro battery
China’s Xiaomi 18 Pro has a 7,000mAh battery. The global model (2609BPN61G) is listed at 6,000mAh — 1,000mAh gone. The Pro Max goes from 8,500mAh in China to 7,050mAh globally (2611FPNFAG), a 1,450mAh cut, roughly 17%. Bigger phone, bigger hit, both in raw numbers and percentage.
Funny enough, the global Pro Max’s 7,050mAh still edges out the China Pro’s 7,000mAh. Charging apparently stays at up to 90/100W for the global units. Nothing yet on wireless (50W in China) or reverse charging (27W in China) internationally.

Xiaomi’s pulled this before. The 17 went from 7,000mAh in China to 6,330mAh globally, about 10% less. The 17 Ultra dropped from 6,800mAh to 6,000mAh. At this point it’s just what Xiaomi does with global variants.
No official explanation from Xiaomi. The common theory is battery-shipping rules — international regulations, especially in the EU, limit how much energy a single lithium-ion cell can pack. Dual-cell setups get around that cap, but they cost you thickness and weight, which is probably why Xiaomi skips them where it can. Gizmochina has a longer breakdown if you’re curious.

And to be clear — none of this is confirmed by Xiaomi itself. They’ve said global launch is coming “this year,” nothing more. These numbers are from leaked code, not a spec sheet, so treat them as a preview, not a promise.
