The Pro Max runs on MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500s (3nm), backed by 12GB of LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. You get a 6.83-inch AMOLED panel at 120Hz with a 1.5K resolution, Gorilla Glass 7i on top, and it gets bright — 2000 nits in HBM mode, up to 3500 nits peak. The Camera, In More Detail
The Poco X8 Pro (non-Max) uses the same dual setup: a 50MP Sony IMX882 — also branded Light Fusion 600 — with an f/1.5 aperture, a 1/1.96″ sensor size, 0.8-micron pixels, and OIS. The second lens is an 8MP ultra-wide. It leans on 4-in-1 pixel binning to pull in more light per shot. Software-wise it’s the same stock Xiaomi/Poco camera app you’ve probably already used on a dozen other phones from them.
Where things get tricky is the chipset split. The regular X8 Pro runs the Dimensity 8500 Ultra, while the Pro Max gets the 9500s — and because that chip is still fairly new, GCam ports built specifically for it are thin on the ground. We dug around anyway and found a couple that actually work.
