Xiaomi has launched the Mijia Wireless Hair Straightener 2. The first model was a decent cordless option, and this one fixes its weakest point, the battery.
Mijia Wireless Hair Straightener 2 Features
Capacity is up 56%, which Xiaomi says gives you up to 70 minutes on one charge. Dyson’s Corrale, which costs several times more, claims around 30 minutes cordless. Both are manufacturer figures, so treat the gap with some caution, but it’s a large one. Charging is over USB-C (5 V, 3 A), so you can use a power bank on a trip, not only a wall adapter.

Heating comes from a PI film rather than ceramic plates. There are three temperatures, 160, 180 and 200 °C, and an NTC sensor checks the heat up to 500 times a second. A small screen shows the temperature and the remaining charge.

Then there’s the ionization: 37 million ions, s
plit into 18 million positive and 19 million negative. I wouldn’t read much into a number that big. Xiaomi’s pitch is that it reduces static and frizz, and only real-world testing will show whether it does. The plates have 52 teeth.

Two small safety touches: double thermal insulation on the body, and a mechanical lock so it can’t turn on inside your bag. It weighs 330 g and measures 207 × 47 × 47 mm.
It comes in gold or purple, with a USB cable and a storage case. The price is $45 (about 2,000 UAH), which is cheap for a cordless straightener with this battery life.
