Xiaomi has kicked off Chinese pre-orders for the Mijia Smart Semi-Automatic Espresso Machine Pro, an all-in-one machine that grinds, brews, and froths milk. List price is 4,999 yuan (~$744); pre-order it now and it’s 4,439 yuan (~$661).
You’re still pulling the shot yourself — this isn’t a push-button machine. But it watches you do it. A pressure-curve system tracks the extraction live and, once the shot’s done, shows you a graph of whether it ran under, over, or right on target, along with a suggestion (grind finer, tamp harder, whatever applies).

The hardware is the more interesting part, honestly. Dual pumps and dual heating blocks let it pull a shot and steam milk simultaneously — no waiting around while a single-boiler machine swings between temperatures. The pump’s an imported ULKA rated to 19 bar, and five NTC sensors scattered around the brew head and water tank feed a PID algorithm to keep things stable.
The grinder has a 420 stainless steel conical burr and a scale built right in, accurate to 0.1g. One less gadget cluttering the counter. There’s an anti-static trick in there too, so grounds don’t end up all over your kitchen.
Milk drinks: the frother covers five types, dairy or plant-based, and stops itself once it hits temperature. Cold brew runs through a separate line entirely — room-temperature, low-pressure, pulsed — so it never shares plumbing with the hot water side.
Controls come via a rotating TFT knob or the Mijia app, which gives you nine adjustable brewing parameters and a library of over 100 recipes to download. Xiaomi throws in a commercial 58mm portafilter, a walnut handle that won’t burn your hand, and a dedicated hot water spout for Americanos or tea.
