Xiaomi has listed a new Xiaomi Power Bank Retractable Cable 10000 55W Dark Gunmetal on its Youpin platform in China. The NPB1055R costs 299 yuan (about $45), and its trick is a USB-C cable that pulls out of the top, so there’s nothing extra to carry or forget.

The body is rounded and measures 90 x 50 x 41mm. At 260g it’s heavier than I’d expect for 10,000mAh, though it still fits in a jacket pocket. The cable is 70cm long. You pull it to the length you need and tug it again to retract it.

Ports and charging speed
Both USB-C connections, the built-in cable and the bottom port, support up to 55W and work with PPS and AVS. The USB-A port tops out at 22.5W. You can plug in three devices at once, but total output drops to 15W when you do, which is typical for power banks like this. If you want full speed, use one port. Recharging the pack itself takes up to 45W through either USB-C connection.

On a full battery, the Xiaomi 17 Pro gets about one complete charge and the iPhone 17 Pro about 1.3. Those figures come from Xiaomi’s own tests. Your results will depend on the phone, the cable, and how warm it is.
The display
Under the front panel is a color screen that shows the remaining battery percentage, current charging wattage, temperature, and battery health, including cycle count. The wattage readout is the part I’d use most, since it tells you whether your phone is really getting 55W or quietly falling back to something slower.
Safety
The NPB1055R complies with China’s GB 47372-2026 standard. Xiaomi says the cells survived nail penetration, 14kN of compression, and an hour at 135°C. It also has the usual protections against overvoltage, short circuits, and overheating.
For flying, 38.32Wh is well below the 100Wh limit most airlines allow in carry-on bags. Keep it out of checked luggage.

The weight and the 15W multi-port limit are the obvious drawbacks. Against that, a cable that can’t get left at home and a screen that shows real numbers are good reasons to pay attention if it ever leaves China.
