Xiaomi has released the Xiaomi Smart Doorbell 4 Pro Dual Camera Edition in China for 499 yuan ($75), with a launch price of 439 yuan ($66). The only real change is a second camera pointed at the floor, so the doorbell now sees the parcel as well as the person who left it.

Two cameras, two jobs
The 5MP main camera faces forward and handles visitors and the porch. The 2MP secondary camera is angled down to watch the doorstep. Both cover more than 150 degrees diagonally. The second sensor has lower resolution, which should be enough for spotting a box on the ground.
Night vision
Dark scenes use infrared LEDs. [Verify before publishing: the 940nm wavelength and the claim that there is no visible red glow.]
Xiaomi Smart Doorbell 4 Pro Dual Camera Edition Battery
The 9,800mAh battery is rated for about 172 days per charge, nearly six months. That figure comes from Xiaomi’s own lab test of 20 ten-second motion clips a day. A busier door means more clips and fewer days.
Motion detection
Two PIR sensors cover 180 degrees horizontally and detect movement up to five meters away. Sensitivity and recording intervals can be changed in the Mi Home app.

Software and smart home features
The doorbell uses AI to tell people, packages and pets apart. Face recognition runs in the cloud at no charge. You can change your voice during a call, leave pre-recorded replies, and have a light come on when someone walks up at night. HyperConnect can send the feed to compatible Xiaomi TVs and displays. XiaoAI answers voice commands such as checking the battery or opening the video stream.
Storage and security
Recordings go to a microSD card of up to 256GB, and Xiaomi adds 72 hours of free rolling cloud storage. Data is encrypted with AES 128. Pull the doorbell off the wall and it sounds a siren, starts recording and sends an alert to your phone.
Installation and availability
It attaches with a 3M adhesive pad or screws. For now it is sold only in China, and I found no word on a global launch or international pricing.
