The Redmi Buds 6 Play is an entry-level true wireless earbud from Xiaomi’s Redmi line. The bean-shaped in-ear body holds a 10 mm dynamic driver, and the set supports Bluetooth 5.4, IPX4 water resistance and a 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response. Each bud weighs 3.6 g. Xiaomi announced it as the third Redmi Buds 6 model in about a month, after the Buds 6 Active and Buds 6 Lite. The AI noise reduction is aimed at calls.
Each earbud has a 57 mAh battery, and the case holds 600 mAh. Xiaomi lists 7.5 hours of playback per charge and 36 hours with the case. Ten minutes in the case gives about 3 hours of listening. A full earbud charge takes up to an hour, and a full case recharges the buds about 3.5 times. Charging is USB-C only. There is no wireless charging, and the box has no cable.
The Malaysian launch price was RM69, with a promotional RM45 on Xiaomi’s online store. Elsewhere it sells for about $18.99 in the US, €11.90 to €15.40 in Europe and 1,699 BDT in Bangladesh. I found no confirmed Nigerian price. It fits someone buying a cheap first pair of TWS earbuds who cares more about battery life than call quality. Inside the brand, it competes with the Redmi Buds 6 Active and Redmi Buds 6 Lite, which launched the same month. Outside it, the Realme Buds T110 and QCY T13 sit at a similar price. The closest direct comparison is the Soundcore P20i, which has a comparable price and also uses a 10 mm driver.
