Xiaomi SkyNomad N70 Max is first SUV is also its first EREV, and it’s clearly aimed at buyers who like the idea of going electric but aren’t ready to trust a charging map on a road trip. The N70 Max sits below the bigger N90 Max in the new SkyNomad line — five seats, five doors, FWD on the cheaper Pro trim, AWD on the Max, built on Xiaomi’s Kunlun platform. Under the hood there’s no hood, really — the 1.5-liter engine just spins a generator. It never touches the wheels. Xiaomi’s claiming 505 km of CLTC electric range, which if true is the longest of any EREV currently on sale.
That range comes from a 76 kWh NMC pack on the Max trim (the cheaper Pro gets a smaller 52 kWh LFP battery instead), and combined with the gas generator you’re looking at 1,461 km total. A caveat worth actually sitting with: CLTC is generous compared to WLTP or EPA, and neither of those ratings exists yet, so treat 505 km as a ceiling, not a promise. Charging is CCS, 20 to 80% in about 18 minutes — decent, not class-leading. The AC onboard rate hasn’t shown up anywhere I could find, which probably just means Xiaomi hasn’t bothered publishing it yet.
Xiaomi SkyNomad N70 Max Price is 259,900 yuan to start in China, somewhere around $36-38k depending which day you check the exchange rate. Nothing’s been announced for anywhere else, and Europe’s not getting this until late 2027 at the earliest. It’s a family hauler, plain and simple — big cargo space, EV-first driving, gas engine as the thing that saves you from ever having to explain to your in-laws why you’re stuck at a charger. Xiaomi slots it between the YU7 and the N90 Max in its own lineup, and the company itself pointed at the Leapmotor D19 as the real competition — bigger battery, bigger car, shorter EV range than what Xiaomi’s claiming.

It's an EREV (extended-range electric vehicle) — a serial plug-in hybrid. A 1.5L gas engine only powers a generator; it never drives the wheels directly. In daily use it behaves like an EV, with gas as backup for long trips.
Up to 505 km on electric power alone, and up to 1,461 km combined with the gas generator — both figures on China's CLTC cycle, which runs more generous than WLTP or EPA. No WLTP/EPA numbers exist yet, so expect lower real-world figures outside China.
DC fast charging takes it from 20–80% in about 18 minutes. The onboard AC charging rate hasn't been officially published.
Starts at 259,900 yuan in China (roughly $36,000–38,000 USD). No pricing exists for other markets yet.
Not yet. It's China-only for now, with a European launch expected in the second half of 2027. Nothing has been announced for the US.
The Pro trim is single-motor FWD; the Max trim is dual-motor AWD (310 kW combined, 416 hp).
The N90 Max is the bigger, pricier flagship — seven seats, longer wheelbase, bigger battery-and-range-extender combo (1,705 km combined range), starting at 299,900 yuan. The N70 Max is the smaller five-seat version.
Xiaomi itself pointed to the Leapmotor D19 as the closest rival — a bigger EREV SUV with a bigger battery but shorter claimed EV range.
It has L2+ driver-assist (LiDAR, 4D radar, up to 700 TOPS of compute via Nvidia Thor/Snapdragon), not full autonomy.
Confirmed — these are official specs from Xiaomi's July 2026 launch event and pre-sale listing. A handful of details (crash ratings, exact warranty terms, infotainment specifics) simply haven't been released yet, which I've flagged rather than guessed at.
