Xiaomi YU7 GT tops the YU7 electric SUV range, built by Xiaomi EV in Beijing. Above it: nothing. Below it: the standard YU7, Pro, and Max. Dual motor, all-wheel drive, coupe-SUV shape. The thing that actually matters here — a $57,000 Chinese SUV ran the Nürburgring Nordschleife in about 7:22. That’s the same range as cars costing two to three times as much. I don’t fully know what to do with that fact except repeat it.
Front motor: 288 kW (386 hp). Rear: 450 kW (603 hp). Combined, 738 kW, or 990 hp. The battery’s 101.7 kWh, good for 705 km on CLTC — China’s cycle, worth remembering, not WLTP or EPA. Since Xiaomi hasn’t sold this outside China, there’s no WLTP or EPA number to check it against, and no way to know how much that 705 km shrinks once it’s run through a stricter test. Charging: Xiaomi claims 10–80% in about 12 minutes on the 800V setup.
