The Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro is Xiaomi’s flagship tablet in the standard Pad 9 range. A bigger Pad 9 Pro Max sits above it, and the plain Pad 9 sits below. It has a glass front with an aluminum frame and back, and a 12.5-inch 3.2K (3200 x 2136, 3:2) IPS LCD running at 144Hz. Peak brightness is 1,000 nits. The body is 5.8mm thick and weighs 580g, or 589g for the matte glass version. Inside is a 3nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 with 8, 12 or 16GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage. It ships with Android 17 and HyperOS 4, and it has no SIM slot and no card slot. It went on sale on September 23, 2026. The change worth noting is the jump from the previous Pro generation. The screen is bigger, and the battery grew from 9,200mAh to 11,000mAh.
Power & Charging
The Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro battery is a non-removable 11,000mAh Li-Po cell. Wired charging is 67W, and reverse charging is 22.5W, which is enough to top up a phone. Xiaomi quotes up to 14.5 hours of short video playback or up to 20 hours of online meetings. Those are the company’s numbers, so wait for independent tests. A 67W charger is middling for a cell this large, and an empty-to-full charge will not be quick. The standard Pad 9 has a 9,720mAh battery with 45W charging, so the Pro lasts longer. Cooling comes from a graphite layer covering more than 22,000 mm². Xiaomi claims an AnTuTu score above 3.4 million. I would hold off on repeating that until reviewers run their own benchmarks.
Pricing, Fit & Context
China is the launch market. The 8GB/128GB model costs 3,799 yuan (about $565), and the 8GB/256GB costs 4,099 yuan. The 12GB/256GB is 4,599 yuan, with an anti-glare Soft Light Edition at 4,799 yuan. The top 16GB/256GB version is 4,999 yuan (about $745). GSMArena lists roughly 500 EUR as a global equivalent, but that is an estimate and not an announced price. I could not find confirmed pricing for Nigeria. Buyers there will probably import through grey-market sellers, so ask about warranty and Google services before paying.
This tablet makes sense if you want a large screen for video, stylus note-taking and split-screen work, or occasional laptop-style use. It makes less sense if you need mobile data.
Inside Xiaomi’s range, it sits between the Pad 9, which starts at CNY 2,999, and the Pad 9 Pro Max. It also competes with its own predecessor, the Pad 8 Pro, which is the cheaper way into the Pro line.
Outside Xiaomi, look at the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 and the iPad Air. The Tab S11 has an OLED panel and Samsung’s DeX desktop mode. The iPad Air has the better selection of apps built for tablets. Both tend to cost more, though that varies by region.
The OnePlus Pad 3 is the closest direct match on chip class, screen size and price tier. I have not checked its current price, so look that up before comparing.
