Xiaomi Auto delivered more than 40,000 vehicles in September, its best month this year, as the first Sky Nomad cars reached customers.
The company posted the number on Weibo on Thursday and left out the exact total and any split between the SU7, YU7 and Sky Nomad. For comparison, it delivered 30,153 in August and 31,267 in July, according to CPCA data and CnEVPost.

Xiaomi Auto Target
The bigger issue is the full-year target. Xiaomi has delivered at least 286,475 vehicles so far, about 52.1% of its 550,000 goal. To make it, the company needs around 263,525 more by December, roughly 87,842 a month. That is more than twice September’s 40,000-plus, and a month ago it was nowhere near that pace.
Sky Nomad went on sale September 7 and is Xiaomi’s first extended-range EV. There are four models: the 5-seat N70 Pro and N70 Max, the 7-seat N90 Max, and the 5-seat N90 Max Studio. Prices start at 209,900 yuan ($31,170). Xiaomi says it took more than 10,000 locked-in orders in 4 minutes. It built a batch of cars before launch, so buyers can get theirs in 1 to 5 weeks.
Vice president Li Xiaoshuang has said Sky Nomad is selling well, but Xiaomi has shared an order count only once. Lei Jun said the company normally reports a full first month after it closes, which puts Sky Nomad’s numbers after October 7. Early-buyer benefits also end that day.

It is not an easy market to enter. CPCA data shows China’s retail EREV sales down 15.85% year-on-year, to 616,000, in the first 8 months. Xiaomi is leaning on range: the N70 Max is rated at 505 km on battery alone (CLTC), and the N90 Max at 1,705 km combined.
Earlier this year, Xiaomi delivered 246,475 vehicles in the first 8 months, up 9.65% year-on-year. Cumulative deliveries were 797,783 at the end of August, and Lei said on September 7 that the total had passed 800,000.
