The Redmi A7 is Xiaomi’s entry-level 4G phone in the A series, sold in one configuration with 3GB RAM and 64GB storage. It has a 6.88-inch display, weighs 193g, is 8.26mm thick, and is rated IP52 for dust and splashes. The chipset is a 12nm Unisoc T7250, paired with LPDDR4X RAM and eMMC 5.1 storage, and there is a microSD slot. It sits below the Redmi A7 Pro 4G and A7 Pro 5G. Against the Redmi A5, it keeps the same T7250 chip, 120Hz 6.88-inch panel and 5,200mAh battery size.
The battery is 5,200mAh. Xiaomi has not published a usable capacity. Wired charging is 15W over USB Type-C with the charger in the box, reverse wired charging is 7.5W, and the cell is listed at 80% health after 1,000 cycles. The 120Hz panel will use some of that capacity, and the A7 Pro models have larger 6,300mAh cells.
In India the A7 launched at ₹10,499 for the 3GB+64GB model. Some outlets report ₹10,999, and retail listings run from ₹10,499 to ₹11,499. In Malaysia it costs RM469 and goes on sale on 15 September 2026. That converts to about $112. It fits a first phone or a backup handset for calls, messaging and video, and it is a weak choice for gaming or photography. Inside the Redmi range, it sits between the Redmi A5 and the Redmi A7 Pro 4G. The A5 has the same T7250 and 3GB RAM and was listed at ₹7,999. The A7 Pro 4G adds 4GB RAM and a 6.9-inch screen. Two rivals are the Samsung Galaxy A07 4G and the Realme C71. The Galaxy A07 4G uses a MediaTek Helio G99 with a 50MP main camera and a 5,000mAh battery charging at 25W, and is listed at ₹9,749. The Realme C71 is the closest direct match. It has the same Unisoc T7250 and 64GB eMMC 5.1 storage, plus 4GB RAM, a 6.74-inch 90Hz screen and a 6,300mAh battery, from ₹8,699.
