The Xiaomi 17T is Xiaomi’s upper mid-range phone for 2026, one step below the 17T Pro. It has a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED, 120Hz, up to 3,500 nits, and a Dimensity 8500-Ultra chip. Both versions have 12GB of RAM, with 256GB or 512GB of storage. The three rear cameras are Leica-tuned: a 50MP main with OIS, a 50MP telephoto and a 12MP ultrawide. The phone ships with HyperOS 3 on Android 16 and is rated IP68. Two details are worth noting. Xiaomi launched it early, ahead of the usual September window, on 28 May 2026, and the telephoto is a 5x periscope.
The battery is a 6,500mAh silicon-carbon cell. Wired charging is 67W, with 50W PPS support for third-party chargers. Reverse wired charging runs at 22.5W, but there is no wireless charging at all. Xiaomi only quotes the 6,500mAh rating, and I couldn’t find a usable-capacity number. One third-party test measured 28:50 hours of endurance, against 24:20 for the Galaxy S25 FE (4,900mAh, 45W).
In France the 12GB/256GB model starts at €749, in the UK at £649, and in India at ₹59,999, or ₹54,999 after launch offers. It suits people who want a large battery and a 5x zoom but not the Pro’s price, and who don’t charge wirelessly. Inside Xiaomi, the 17T Pro is the upgrade, with a Dimensity 9500, a 7,000mAh battery, 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The regular Xiaomi 17 competes with it as well, and it already sells in India alongside the 17 Ultra. From other brands, look at the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE and the OnePlus 15R. The 15R has a 7,400mAh silicon-carbon battery but only two rear cameras, 50MP and 8MP. The S25 FE is the closest direct match, with a 6.7-inch screen, an Exynos 2400, 8GB RAM and 128GB storage in the compared global variant.
