The Redmi K90 Max is Xiaomi’s gaming-focused entry in the Redmi K series, priced in the upper mid-range. It has a 6.83-inch 1280×2772 AMOLED screen with 165Hz refresh and 3,500 nits peak brightness, and a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 built on 3nm. RAM is 12 or 16GB, and storage goes up to 1TB. The body measures 162.91 x 77.93 x 8.18 mm and weighs 227g. The rear has two cameras, a 50MP main and an 8MP ultrawide. It runs Android 16 with HyperOS 3. Launch coverage calls it the first Xiaomi phone with a built-in cooling fan. It also uses a Dimensity chip, where the K90 Pro Max uses a Snapdragon.
The battery is 8,550mAh silicon-carbon, with 100W wired charging, 50W wireless charging and 22.5W wireless reverse charging. Wired charging supports PD3.0 and 100W PPS, and wired reverse charging is rated at 22.5W. The fan works alongside a discrete D2 graphics chip to keep frame rates steady in long gaming sessions.
In China, the 12GB+256GB version launched at 3,499 yuan, which drops to about 2,999 yuan after national subsidies. The 16GB+1TB version costs 4,999 yuan. The effective starting price is 400 yuan higher than the previous generation’s launch price. That converts to roughly 440 EUR or $469 for the 12GB/256GB model. India has no official launch yet, so the ₹45,990 on listing sites is an estimate. The phone suits mobile gamers who care more about sustained performance and battery life than camera range. Inside Redmi, it falls between the Redmi K90 (sold globally as the POCO F8 Pro) and the K90 Pro Max. Outside the brand, it competes with the iQOO Neo 11 and the OnePlus 15R. The closest direct match is the OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra, with the same Dimensity 9500, a 165Hz display, an 8,600mAh battery and a price of about $440. The K90 Max’s main difference is its cooling fan, which pre-launch reports said the Ace 6 Ultra would lack.
