Xiaomi Book 14 vs RedmiBook 15

Xiaomi Book 14 vs RedmiBook 15, Both are Windows laptops from Xiaomi, and they target different budgets. The Book 14 is the parent brand’s ultrabook, for students and office workers who want a good screen in a light body. The RedmiBook 15 comes from the cheaper Redmi line, for people who want a big display and a low price. Xiaomi launched the Book Pro 14 in China in March 2026, but it has no confirmed international date. So the regular Book 14 is the Xiaomi ultrabook most buyers can actually get.

Xiaomi Book 14 vs RedmiBook 15

Xiaomi Book 14 vs RedmiBook 15 Specs

On paper, the Book 14 has a 14-inch 2.8K screen at 120Hz, a 12th-gen Core i3 or i5, up to 16GB of RAM, a 1.37kg metal body, a 100W USB-C charger and a 1080p webcam. The RedmiBook 15 has a 15.6-inch Full HD screen, an 11th-gen Core i3 or i5, 8GB of RAM, a 46Wh battery and a 720p webcam. Its ports are the more useful: USB-A, HDMI, Ethernet and an SD card reader. Redmi claims 10 hours of battery, but I’d expect 5 to 7 in mixed use. I couldn’t find a battery capacity for the Book 14, so I won’t guess.

Xiaomi Book 14 vs RedmiBook 15 Price

I found no official Book 14 price outside China, so check Xiaomi’s global store or local sellers. The RedmiBook 15 launched from ₹32,999 in India, RM2,399 in Malaysia and ₱26,999 in the Philippines. I also found no confirmed Naira price or official Nigerian availability for either laptop, so compare local listings first. The real choice here is whether a sharper, lighter machine is worth paying more for.

Xiaomi’s next step up is the Book Pro 14, with a 3.1K OLED screen and a 1.08kg body, though it is China-only for now. Redmi sells other RedmiBook sizes depending on the region. Outside Xiaomi, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 and Acer Aspire 5 cost about the same as the RedmiBook and are often easier to find locally. Putting these two side by side still shows clearly what Xiaomi’s extra money buys.

The Book 14’s screen is the main reason to pick it. Text and video look sharper, and you’ll notice that after a few hours of reading. At 1.37kg it also won’t wear you out on the walk to campus. Its chip is dated, though, and the global price and support are unclear. The RedmiBook 15 is cheaper, and having Ethernet and an SD slot built in saves you buying adapters. But the 1080p screen, 720p webcam and 8GB of RAM are basic, and the bigger body is a chore to carry.

Choose the Book 14 if screen quality and portability matter most. Choose the RedmiBook 15 if price, screen size and built-in ports matter more.
