The Redmi Buds 6 Active are Xiaomi’s entry-level true wireless earbuds, sold under the Redmi name. They’re semi-in-ear buds with a 14.2 mm dynamic driver, Bluetooth 5.4, dual mics for call noise reduction and an IPX4 rating. Each bud weighs 4 g, and the buds plus case weigh 36 g. There’s no active noise cancellation. They replace the Redmi Buds 4 Active, since Xiaomi skipped the Buds 5 Active, and they come with a longer rated battery life at a lower price.
The buds have 37 mAh batteries and the case has 475 mAh. Xiaomi rates them at up to 6 hours per charge and up to 30 hours with the case. Charging is over USB-C: about 90 minutes for the buds, 120 for the case. A 10-minute fast charge gives roughly an hour of playback.
The launch price in China was 99 yuan, about $14. Other markets list ₹1,299 in India, ₦24,000 in Nigeria, KES 2,800 in Kenya, BDT 2,249 in Bangladesh and around €20 in Europe. They fit someone who wants a cheap pair for music, videos and the odd call, and doesn’t care about ANC. Within Xiaomi, they sit alongside the Redmi Buds 6 Play and the Redmi Buds 6 Lite. Rivals include the Soundcore P20i and the QCY T13. The closest direct comparison is the Realme Buds T110, which costs about the same.
