Xiaomi will launch new REDMI Book laptops in China on October 27. They run Intel’s Core Series 3 chips (codename Wildcat Lake), and the pitch is battery life. A 16-inch model has already shown up in benchmarks.
REDMI Book 14 2027: design and ports
Xiaomi’s renders show a redesigned metal body in blue and purple. It’s thin, yet Xiaomi kept a full set of ports: two USB-A, two USB-C, full-size HDMI and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Battery life and memory
The headline is the battery. Xiaomi President Lu Weibing says the Book 14 2027 combines an Intel 18A processor, LPDDR5x memory and a 72Wh battery. Xiaomi claims up to 20.2 hours of simulated office work and 1.26 days of local video playback. Those are Xiaomi’s numbers, and nobody has tested them. Lu noted that 20 hours is rare for thin-and-light laptops at this price.
REDMI Book 16 2027 on Geekbench
IT Home found the REDMI Book 16 2027 on Geekbench with a Core 5 320 and 16GB of DDR5. That points to upgradeable RAM, something the Book Pro 16 2026 lacks because its memory is soldered. Xiaomi hasn’t said whether retail units will match the listing.
The 2026 Book 16 has an 80Wh battery, 100W charging and a 2560×1600, 120Hz, 400-nit display. Notebookcheck expects some of that to carry over, but nothing is confirmed.

Intel Core 5 320 specs
- Process: Intel 18A
- Cores: 6 cores and 6 threads (2 Cougar Cove performance, 4 Darkmont low-power efficient)
- Boost clock: up to 4.6GHz
- Power: 15W base, 35W maximum turbo
- Graphics: 2-core Xe3-LPG
- NPU: 16 TOPS
Efficiency over speed
Last year’s Book 16 used the 14-core Core Ultra 5 125H. Six cores is a big step down, so expect better efficiency and weaker multi-core performance. I wouldn’t count on it for demanding games or long heavy workloads, though that needs testing.

Launch date
Full specs, pricing and global availability are due at the October 27 event, reportedly alongside the REDMI K100 series.
