Redmi launches the K100 in China on October 27 at 7 pm local time, and pre-orders are already open. It runs HyperOS 4 on Android 17, with Super XiaoAi 2.0 as the assistant (built on Xiaomi’s MiMo language model). Tablets and PCs can access and process data from the phone. The screen is a 6.83-inch 1.5K OLED at 165Hz, peaking at 3,500 nits, with a 480Hz multi-finger touch reporting rate and 3,500Hz instant touch sampling. A Snapdragon 8 Elite handles the processing, and a D2 gaming display chip sits alongside it.
This is the first D2 in a standard K-series phone, and more than 40 games run at native 165fps. The frame is metal, the color is Firefly Green, and the Bose-tuned speakers come with it. The Clip Neo open-ear earphones launch the same day. Redmi’s teasers also mention a 50MP Light Hunter 800-series main camera, IP68 protection, an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, seven gaming antennas, dual T1+ signal chips, an X-axis linear motor and three microphones.
Redmi K100 Battery and charging
The 10,000mAh battery is the biggest Redmi has put in a phone. It is 28% silicon-carbon with an energy density of 957Wh/L, and Xiaomi says it keeps working down to -20°C. Charging is 100W wired, with 27W wired reverse charging. Bypass charging is also included to cut heat while gaming. The K100 Pro Max has 9,070mAh and the K100 Pro has 8,580mAh, so the standard model now has the largest battery in the lineup.
Price and alternatives
Redmi hasn’t announced the price or memory options yet. This is a phone for gamers and heavy users who want battery life beyond a day and can live with last generation’s chip. Within the brand, the nearest models are the K100 Pro and K100 Pro Max, both launched August 11 with HyperOS 3.0 on Android 16. Outside it, the OnePlus 15 and Realme GT 8 Pro are the rivals to check. The most direct comparison is the K100 Pro, which has 1,420mAh less battery and older software.
