The Redmi Buds 6 are Xiaomi’s entry-level true wireless earbuds, sold under the Redmi brand. They are in-ear buds with Bluetooth 5.4 and two drivers per side: a 12.4 mm titanium diaphragm and a 5.5 mm micro-piezoelectric ceramic unit. ANC is rated up to 49 dB. They launched in China in September 2024 and in India on December 9, 2024. Xiaomi’s India pitch was that dual drivers were new at this price.
Each earbud has a 54 mAh battery, and the case has 475 mAh. Xiaomi rates the buds at 10 hours with ANC off and 6.5 hours with it on, and the case stretches that to 42 hours and 26 hours. Charging is over USB-C, and 10 minutes gives about 4 hours of playback. A full charge takes 60 minutes for the buds and 2 hours 30 minutes for the case. One review measured 5.2 g per earbud and 43 g for the case. The earbuds are rated IP54, and the case has an LED battery indicator.
They cost 199 yuan at launch in China and Rs 2,999 (about $35) in India. US listings run from about $31 to $55 depending on the retailer. They suit someone who wants ANC and long battery life without spending much. In Redmi’s own range, the Buds 6 Active is the cheaper step down, with 30 hours of total battery and no ANC. The Buds 6 Pro is the step up, with triple drivers at about $99.99 in the US. Among other brands, the Realme Buds Air 8 and the Samsung Galaxy Buds Core are the main rivals. For a direct comparison, use the OnePlus Nord Buds 3 Pro, which retailer comparison pages pair with the Buds 6.
