Xiaomi has started rolling out HyperOS 4 globally, about two months after the global beta began. The schedule covers 82 devices, 67 phones and 15 tablets, split into three waves between early November and December 2026. The update runs on Android 17.
HyperOS 4 Global Rollout Schedule
| Wave | Starts | Devices | Phones | Tablets |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Early November 2026 | 33 | 31 | 2 |
| 2 | Mid-November 2026 | 16 | 9 | 7 |
| 3 | December 2026 | 33 | 27 | 6 |
Wave one covers the Xiaomi 17 series, the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Ultra, the Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro, and the Redmi 17, Redmi Note 17, Redmi Note 15, Poco F8, Poco X8 and Poco M8 lines. The last wave goes furthest back: the Xiaomi 13 series is more than three years old and still on the list.
Xiaomi calls these dates starting windows, and it hasn’t confirmed exact release days. Each device gets the update when its region and software variant are ready, so a missing update on your phone today doesn’t mean anything is wrong.
What Is New in HyperOS 4
The big visible change is a redesign Xiaomi calls Soft Light Glass. 9to5Google calls it Liquid Glass-inspired. You also get more lock screen options, new ways to organize the home screen and better floating app support.
On speed, Xiaomi says apps open nearly 20% faster after about a day of use, because a background AI algorithm learns your habits. That number comes from Xiaomi, not from independent testing.
HyperOS 4 Download Size
The Poco F8 Pro received the first global build, OS4.0.2.0.XPKMIXM. Reports put the download at about 8.4 GB when upgrading from stable HyperOS 3, so free up storage and use Wi-Fi.
Background
Xiaomi unveiled HyperOS 4 in China on August 13, 2026, and opened a beta the same day. The global beta followed in September with a small group of flagships, including the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. Xiaomi hasn’t said anything about 2027 yet.
