The Redmi 17C 5G has been on sale in a few markets since August. Now India gets it too, with sales starting on October 7.
According to Redmi India X account, Pricing is simple. The 4GB RAM model costs ₹20,999 (about $218), and the 6GB version costs ₹22,999 (about $238). Both come with 128GB of storage, so the extra ₹2,000 buys you more RAM and nothing else.

Redmi 17C 5G Features
The screen stands out mostly for its size. It’s a 6.9-inch LCD, which is big by any standard. Resolution is 720 x 1600, so it won’t be the sharpest panel at this price, but the 120Hz refresh rate should make scrolling feel smoother than the pixel count suggests.
Battery is the other big number. There’s a 6,000 mAh cell inside, and it charges at 33W. A battery that size behind a 720p display should last a long time, though we’d want to test it before promising anything.
Performance comes from the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset. For photos, you get a 50MP main camera on the back and an 8MP selfie camera on the front.
A few smaller details are worth a mention. The fingerprint scanner sits in the power button on the side of the phone. There’s also a 3.5mm headphone jack. That’s getting harder to find, so if you still use wired earphones, it’s a real plus.
The Redmi 17C 5G comes in three colors: Coffee Brew, Purple Dawn, and Dark Night.
At around ₹21,000, the 17C 5G is aimed at people who care more about battery life and a big, smooth screen than a sharp display or flagship speed. If that sounds like you, it’s worth keeping an eye on when sales open.
