The Poco M8s 5G is a budget phone from Poco, Xiaomi’s sub-brand, announced on April 21, 2026. The body is a standard slab, 169.4 x 80.4 x 8.4 mm and 217 g, with a 6.9-inch Full HD+ screen that runs up to 144Hz. Inside is a Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 (6nm) with 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. It has a 50MP main camera and an 8MP selfie camera, and runs Android 15 with HyperOS 2. The notable part is the 7,000 mAh battery on a phone priced under $200.
The battery has a silicon-carbon anode, with 33W wired charging and 18W reverse wired charging. Poco claims 80% capacity after 1,600 cycles and two days per charge. Those are company figures, not independent tests. Usable capacity isn’t published. Other hardware: USB-C, a microSD slot, a side fingerprint sensor and face unlock.
The global launch price is $190. In the Philippines it’s ₱11,999 for 6GB/128GB and ₱13,999 for 8GB/256GB. It suits someone who wants long battery life and a big screen and doesn’t mind slower charging or modest gaming performance. In Poco’s own lineup, the nearest models are the Poco M8 (Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, 5,520 mAh, 45W) and the Poco M8x 5G (Snapdragon 4 Gen 5, 7,900 mAh). Outside the brand, the Oppo A6s 5G (Dimensity 6300, 6,500 mAh) and the Realme P4x 5G compete at a similar price. The Poco M8 is the closest direct comparison, at ₱12,999 for 8GB/256GB in the Philippines. The M8s has about 1,500 mAh more battery, and the M8 charges at 45W instead of 33W.
