Poco F9 Pro vs Redmi K100 Pro, The Poco F9 Pro and Redmi K100 Pro are very nearly the same phone with different badges. Poco is Xiaomi’s global brand, and Redmi is the one that sells mostly in China. So the Poco is for people elsewhere who want a proper warranty and global software, and the Redmi is for people in China or importers who can live with the quirks. The timing makes sense: the F9 series just launched globally, and the K100 Pro was announced in China on August 11, 2026. Last year’s Redmi K90 Pro reportedly turned into the Poco F8 Pro, so this looks like the same play again.

The F9 Pro has a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V chip, a 6.59-inch 185Hz AMOLED and a 6,330mAh battery. You also get 100W wired and 50W wireless charging, a 200MP main camera, a 50MP 2.5x telephoto, an 8MP ultrawide, Bose speakers and IP68/IP69. The K100 Pro uses the same V-series chip, a 1.5K OLED, an 8,580mAh battery and the same 50MP telephoto and 8MP ultrawide. Its panel is 185Hz too. With matching chips, I’d expect speed to be a wash. The Redmi’s battery is about a third larger, which should mean a visibly longer day, but nobody has tested either yet. Redmi spec sheets contradict each other, so double-check before spending money.
The Poco F9 Pro starts at $699, or $649 as an early-bird price. Local pricing includes RM3,299 in Malaysia and ₱49,999 in the Philippines. India isn’t confirmed. The Redmi starts at ¥3,699, around $548, and I can’t find it on sale outside China. So the question is whether the Poco is worth about $150 more than a phone you may not be able to buy anyway.
If you want more from either brand, Poco’s F9 Ultra starts at $799 with an 8,050mAh battery, and Redmi’s K100 Pro Max starts at $622 with a 9,070mAh one. From other brands, the OnePlus 15R and Samsung Galaxy S26 FE are worth checking, though I haven’t confirmed their prices. I’d still compare these two first, because the chip is shared and the real differences are cost, battery and support.
The Poco’s wireless charging and water and dust rating suit someone who wants fewer worries day to day, and an official warranty counts for a lot away from China. The cost is a smaller battery and a higher price. The Redmi’s bigger battery helps if you’re rarely near a charger, and it’s cheaper. But it has no eSIM, headphone jack or microSD slot, and it’s hard to get abroad.
Choose the Poco F9 Pro if you want wireless charging, a durability rating and a warranty you can use. Choose the Redmi K100 Pro if battery life and price matter more and you can buy and support a China-market phone. The Poco costs more and has less battery, but it’s much easier to own outside China.
