The Poco X8 Pro is an upper-mid-range phone from Poco, Xiaomi’s sub-brand, announced on March 16, 2026. It has a 6.59-inch AMOLED screen at 120Hz, a glass back, an aluminum frame and IP68 dust and water resistance. The chip is a MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra, paired with 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of storage. Cameras are a 50MP main and an 8MP ultra-wide. This is the standard model in the first Poco X Pro series to get a Pro Max sibling. It also shares its platform and screen size with the China-only Redmi Turbo 5, with a smaller battery.
The battery is rated at 6500mAh typical. It is a silicon-carbon cell, about 10% silicon, and Poco gives no usable capacity figure. Wired charging tops out at 100W over PPS, so most third-party fast chargers will work. Poco claims 48 minutes from 1% to 100% with the 100W in-box charger, using Top speed mode with the screen off. Whether a charger is in the box depends on where you buy: the UK listing says no, one Estonian retailer says yes. Reverse wired charging is 27W. Poco also says the battery holds at least 80% capacity after 1,600 cycles. That is its own number, not an independent test.
Global launch prices were $299 for 8GB/256GB, $329 for 8GB/512GB and $359 for 12GB/512GB. In Europe the base model is listed at €389, and in the UK at £349. Indian listings start around ₹34,999 but vary by retailer, and in the Philippines it costs ₱15,499. It suits people who want a big battery, a flat OLED screen and a fast chip for less than a flagship costs, and who don’t need much from the cameras, which have barely changed since the Poco X7 Pro.
Inside Poco’s range, it sits below the X8 Pro Max (Dimensity 9500s, 6.83-inch screen) and overlaps with the X8 Power, which has a 10,000mAh battery and costs ₹38,999 in India. From other brands, the vivo T5 Pro has the same chip and a 9020mAh battery, and the Nothing Phone (4a) is priced similarly, though it doesn’t match the X8 Pro’s 4K 60fps video. The closest match is the Redmi Turbo 5, with the same chipset, the same 6.59-inch screen and about the same 204g weight. It starts at ₹37,999 in India against ₹34,999 for the X8 Pro, and has a larger 7560mAh battery.
