Poco X8 Power 5G vs Poco F9 Pro, Both phones come from Poco, Xiaomi’s value brand, and they target different buyers. The X8 Power 5G is a mid-range phone for people who want a big screen and a battery that lasts, without paying flagship prices. The F9 Pro is for gamers and heavy users who want a top-end chip for less than Samsung or Apple would charge. Both are new. The F9 Pro launched globally on September 1, 2026, and the X8 Power followed in India with an official launch date of September 4, 2026.

On paper, the X8 Power has a Snapdragon 6 Gen 5, a 6.83-inch 120Hz AMOLED screen, a 50MP + 8MP rear camera, and a 10,000mAh battery with 100W charging. The F9 Pro has a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a 6.59-inch 185Hz AMOLED screen, a 6,330mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging, and a 200MP main camera paired with a 50MP 2.5x telephoto. It is also rated IP68/IP69 and has Bose-tuned speakers. The F9 Pro wins on speed, display, cameras and durability. The X8 Power wins on battery. I couldn’t find independent battery or camera tests for either phone, so the following is my estimate. The X8 Power should easily get through a day and a half of heavy use. The F9 Pro should last a full day, but you’ll charge it more often.
In India, the X8 Power 5G starts at ₹35,999 for 8GB + 128GB and ₹38,999 for 8GB + 256GB. The F9 Pro starts at $699 for 12GB/256GB, or $649 at the early-bird price, which is about ₹58,700 according to Gizbot, and it lists at Php 49,999 in the Philippines. India has no confirmed F9 Pro launch, and the previous F-series flagships skipped India. So the decision is between a phone you can buy locally with a huge battery, and a faster one that costs roughly 1.6 times as much and may mean importing.
Other Poco phones are worth a look. The Poco X8 costs the same at 8GB/256GB but has a 9,000mAh battery, and the Poco F8 is listed at ₹37,990 with a 144Hz display and 12GB of RAM. Above the F9 Pro is the F9 Ultra, which has a 6.9-inch display, a 5x periscope telephoto and an 8,050mAh battery. For rivals to the X8 Power, check the OnePlus Nord 6 and Realme P4 Power 5G. I haven’t checked current prices for flagship rivals to the F9 Pro. Comparing these two Poco phones shows what the extra money buys within one brand.
The X8 Power’s big battery matters because heavy users can skip the charger for days. Its Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 will lag in demanding games, though, and may feel slow sooner than a flagship chip would. The F9 Pro’s chip and 185Hz screen should stay smooth for years, and the 200MP camera and IP68/IP69 rating make it a better all-round phone. But it has a smaller battery, costs much more, and may not reach India.
Choose the X8 Power 5G if battery life and price matter most. Choose the F9 Pro if performance and cameras matter more and you can pay for them.
