Xiaomi Watch S5 46mm vs Redmi Watch 6 Lite, Both watches come from Xiaomi, but they aim at different wrists. The Watch S5 46mm is a steel, classic-looking watch for someone who wants one piece for work and workouts. The Redmi Watch 6 Lite sits in Redmi’s budget line and suits first-time buyers and students. The S5 arrived in May 2026 and the Lite in August, so both are still new on shelves.

On paper, the S5 has a 1.48-inch AMOLED screen (480 x 480) that peaks at 2,500 nits, a steel case, 5ATM water resistance and an 815 mAh battery. It runs HyperOS 3 and adds dual-band GNSS, NFC and Bluetooth 5.4. Xiaomi claims 21 days of light use, 14 of normal use and 9 with the always-on display. The Lite has a larger, dimmer 1.96-inch AMOLED (410 x 502, 1,500 nits), GPS plus four other satellite systems, a 470 mAh battery, 5ATM resistance, Bluetooth calling and 150 sports modes. Listings claim 12 days. My estimate, not a tested figure: with regular GPS and notifications, about 7 days on the S5 and 5 to 6 on the Lite.
The S5 46mm costs Php10,999 in the Philippines, Rs 39,999 in Nepal and about €149 on Amazon Germany. The Lite is 299 zł in Poland, NPR 14,999 in Nepal and roughly €60 to €70 in Europe. I found no Naira pricing or confirmed Nigerian availability for either, so ask local sellers before you pay. If you’re deciding whether the S5’s materials and battery justify two to three times the price, this comparison is for you.
Xiaomi’s Smart Band range covers people who want something slimmer. Redmi also sells the Watch 6 and Watch 6 Active. Outside the family, the Huawei Watch Fit 5 and Amazfit Active 2 are worth a look at similar prices. I’d still compare these two first, because they share software and the price gap is the only big difference.
The S5’s steel case and optional leather strap look right in a meeting, which counts if you only own one watch. The brighter screen reads better in sun, and NFC lets you pay from your wrist where your bank supports it. But it costs far more, and 46mm can look oversized on a small wrist. The Lite gives you GPS, calling and a big screen for a price most first-time buyers can handle, and at about 31 g you can wear it to bed. Its screen is dimmer, the aluminium frame and TPU strap feel cheap, and I found no NFC listed.
Choose the S5 46mm if build, brightness and battery matter most. Choose the Lite if you want GPS and basic health tracking at the lowest price.
