Redmi Watch 6 Active vs Redmi Watch 6 Lite, Both are budget AMOLED smartwatches from Redmi, Xiaomi’s value brand, and the names are backwards. The Active is the cheaper one, the Lite sits in the middle, and the standard Watch 6 tops the range. Both launched in Japan on August 27, 2026, which explains the timing of this comparison. The Active is for people who want notifications, steps and sleep data and nothing more. The Lite is for runners and swimmers who are tired of carrying a phone.

The Active has a 1.85-inch screen at 390 × 450, and the Lite has a 1.96-inch screen at 410 × 502. Xiaomi states 18 days of light use for both. One spec database lists 12 days of backup for both, so heavy users should plan for less. I found no independent battery tests. Both have Bluetooth calling. The Lite adds a 9-axis motion sensor, multi-system GPS and a speaker. It also carries a 5ATM rating, and the Active isn’t designed for pool use. A few retailer listings give the Active GPS and 5ATM as well, but most sources disagree, so check the box before you pay.
Redmi Watch 6 Active vs Redmi Watch 6 Lite Price
In Japan the Active costs ¥5,580 and the Lite ¥7,980. UK prices were £39.99 and £59.99 at the time of one comparison, and German prices were €49.95 and €69.95. I couldn’t find official availability or naira pricing in Nigeria, so check local sellers first. If you’re deciding between them, you’re really deciding whether GPS and swimming are worth about €20 to you.
The standard Redmi Watch 6 is the upgrade, with a larger screen and a claimed 24 days of battery. Xiaomi’s Smart Band line is the slimmer route. A Japanese review notes that the ¥3,980 Smart Band 11 Active can swim while the ¥5,580 Active watch can’t. Amazfit’s Bip watches and Huawei’s bands are the likely rivals at this price, though I haven’t checked what they cost now. These two watches share a battery and a similar body, so there are only a few differences to weigh.
The Active’s low price is the draw if you only read notifications and glance at step counts. It can’t go in a pool, and most sources say it lacks GPS, so a run still needs your phone in your pocket. The Lite logs routes by itself and survives swim sessions, which matters if you train outdoors. You pay more for that, and the battery claim is the same.
Choose the Active if you carry your phone and want to spend as little as possible. Choose the Lite if phone-free GPS or swimming matters more.
