SkyNomad N90 Max vs Xiaomi YU7 Max

SkyNomad N90 Max vs Xiaomi YU7 Max, Both of these are Xiaomi cars. SkyNomad is a second line under Xiaomi EV, not its own brand. The N90 Max is a big seven-seat extended-range SUV (EREV), aimed at families who drive long distances. The YU7 Max is the top trim of Xiaomi’s electric SUV, for people who want a fast, fully electric five-seater. The N90 Max only launched on September 7, 2026, so this is the first time the two can be compared head to head.

SkyNomad N90 Max vs Xiaomi YU7 Max

SkyNomad N90 Max vs Xiaomi YU7 Max Range

Range numbers below are CLTC, which flatters cars more than WLTP or EPA does. The N90 Max is rated at 464 km electric and 1,705 km combined. Xiaomi’s own test got 323.6 km on electric power alone, roughly 70% of the rating. The YU7 Max is rated at 760 km with a 101.7 kWh battery. I couldn’t find an independent real-world figure, so expect a similar shortfall. On DC charging, the N90 Max’s 76 kWh pack takes 18 minutes to go from 20% to 80%. The YU7 Max supports 5.2C and claims 10% to 80% in 12 minutes. Those start from different charge levels, so don’t treat them as a direct race. I couldn’t confirm AC rates for either car.

SkyNomad N90 Max vs Xiaomi YU7 Max pricing

The N90 Max launched at 269,900 yuan (about $39,700). The Explorer Edition, with its electric pop-up roof, is 299,900 yuan. The YU7 Max launched at 329,900 yuan (about $45,600), though it may have changed since. Both sell mainly in China, and the N90 Max Studio isn’t coming to the UK. Chinese-spec YU7s do show up in grey-market listings abroad, the UAE for one. So the decision comes down to this: seven seats with a petrol backup, or a quicker pure EV.

Other Xiaomi options for these buyers are the SU7 sedan and the YU7 GT (705 km CLTC). If the N90 Max feels too big, the five-seat N70 Max is next door. Outside Xiaomi, the Tesla Model Y L is a six-seater at 339,000 yuan. The Leapmotor D19 EREV is closer to the N90 Max, with an 80.3 kWh pack and 500 km of EV range. I still think this pairing is the more useful comparison. Same maker, similar prices, two very different ideas of what a family SUV should run on.

Quick verdict: If you need seven seats and want to stop worrying about chargers on long trips, get the N90 Max. If you want a pure EV that charges faster and accelerates harder, and five seats are enough, get the YU7 Max. You pay for the N90 Max’s space and flexibility with electric range and speed. You pay for the YU7 Max’s performance with two fewer seats and no petrol backup.
