Xiaomi started out making phones, and now it makes fast electric SUVs. Xiaomi YU7 Max vs Xiaomi YU7 GT, The YU7 Max and YU7 GT share a body, a battery and a platform, but they’re aimed at different drivers. The Max suits someone who wants a quick family SUV that’s easy to live with. The GT is for the person who wants the most power Xiaomi will sell them. They’re worth comparing now because the GT only launched on May 21, so you can finally buy both.

Both ranges are CLTC, China’s test cycle, which runs optimistic next to WLTP or EPA. The Max is rated at 760 km and the GT at 705 km, from the same 101.7 kWh battery. Nobody has run independent real-world tests yet. My rough guess is 500–550 km for the Max and 470–520 km for the GT, depending on speed and weather. Peak DC charging is 507 kW on both, and the GT takes 11 kW on AC, which means about 9 hours for a full home charge. Xiaomi claims a best-case 10–80% in 12 minutes. In daily use, expect closer to 12–20.
Xiaomi YU7 Max vs Xiaomi YU7 GT Price, Availability & Market Fit
The GT starts at 389,900 yuan, about $57,300. A fully loaded “Big Full Pack” costs 429,900 yuan, and a GT Sports Kit adds 34,000 yuan. The Max launched at around 329,900 yuan, so check the current price before you commit. Officially, the GT is sold only in mainland China. A third-party importer lists the GT at €72,900 and the Max at €58,740 for Germany. So the question this page answers is simple: does the GT justify the extra money over the Max?
Ecosystem & Rival Context
Both cars come from Xiaomi, so the same lineup applies to each buyer. If this much power is more than you need, the YU7 Standard and Pro cost less. The Long Range version is rated at 835 km, which makes it the pick for distance. The SU7 Ultra is the sedan to cross-shop. From other brands, look at the Tesla Model Y Performance, the Porsche Macan Electric and the Zeekr 7X. On paper, the YU7 pair gives you more power and faster charging for the money. The catch is service and support, which are much thinner outside China.
QUICK VERDICT
Choose the YU7 Max if you care about value, longer range and day-to-day usability. With 508 kW and a 3.23-second run to 100 km/h, it’s already very quick. Choose the YU7 GT if outright performance matters most. It makes 738 kW and reaches 100 km/h in 2.92 seconds. You pay more and give up about 55 km of rated range, and charging speed is the same on both. Most drivers will never use the extra power on a public road.
