Xiaomi 18 Pro vs Poco F9 Pro

Xiaomi 18 Pro vs Poco F9 Pro, Both phones come from Xiaomi. The 18 Pro is the brand’s compact flagship for people who care about cameras and build. The Poco F9 Pro comes from its cheaper performance label and suits gamers and anyone who wants flagship speed without the flagship bill. The timing is the reason to compare them: Poco launched the F9 Pro globally on September 1, 2026, and Xiaomi says the 18 Pro will go global this year.

Xiaomi 18 Pro vs Poco F9 Pro

Xiaomi 18 Pro vs Poco F9 Pro Specs

The Xiaomi 18 Pro, going by reports since it isn’t official globally, has a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, a 6.36-inch 144Hz AMOLED, a 200MP + 200MP + 50MP rear camera set and a 7,000mAh battery with 100W charging. It also has a small second screen on the back. The Poco F9 Pro has a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, 12GB of RAM, a 6.59-inch 185Hz AMOLED, a 200MP main camera, a 50MP 2.5x telephoto, an 8MP ultra-wide, and a 6,330mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. It’s also rated IP68/IP69 and has Bose-tuned speakers. I haven’t tested either, but I’d expect both to last a full day. The Xiaomi’s bigger battery and newer chip should give it more room, while the Poco’s faster screen suits games. The Poco’s 8MP ultra-wide is the weak spot, and I’d expect the Xiaomi to beat it for zoom and low light.

Xiaomi 18 Pro vs Poco F9 Pro Price

The Xiaomi 18 Pro starts at ¥5,999 (about £675) in China. No global price is out, and it will probably be higher. The Poco F9 Pro costs $699 for 12GB/256GB, or $649 early-bird, and €899.90 in Europe. No India launch is announced. I couldn’t find Nigerian pricing for either phone, so check local retailers. The decision here is whether the Xiaomi’s cameras and newer chip are worth a likely premium over a Poco you can buy today.

If you like the Xiaomi, the 18 Pro Max has a 8,500mAh battery and is the obvious step up. Poco buyers may want the F9 Ultra, from $799, with a larger display and battery. From other brands, the OnePlus 15 and Samsung Galaxy S26 sit in the same price range. I’d still compare these two first, since the real difference between them is camera strength against price.

The Xiaomi’s dual 200MP cameras matter if you shoot a lot of zoomed or dim-light photos, and the newer chip should stay quick for longer. The catch is that you can’t plan a purchase around an unconfirmed global price and date. The Poco’s 185Hz screen and Bose speakers are a good fit for gaming and video, and the price is lower and already confirmed. Its weaker zoom and ultra-wide cameras will frustrate photographers, and the smaller battery may drain faster in long sessions.

Choose the Xiaomi 18 Pro if cameras and the newer chip matter most and you can wait for global pricing. Choose the Poco F9 Pro if you want a fast screen and a lower price now. You’re trading camera quality for cost and availability.
