The Xiaomi Poco X8 Pro Max is a mid-range Android phone from Poco, Xiaomi’s performance sub-brand. It came out on March 17, 2026. It’s a standard slab with a 6.83-inch, 120Hz AMOLED screen, a metal frame, a fiberglass back and IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings. The chip is a Dimensity 9500s with 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and storage is 256 or 512 GB of UFS 4.1. The cameras are a 50 MP main, an 8 MP secondary and a 20 MP selfie. Two things make it notable. REVU describes it as the global debut of the Dimensity 9500s, and Digitec says its battery is the biggest in any Poco phone.
The battery is the main reason to look at this phone, and Notebookcheck calls it the strongest selling point. Capacity depends on where you buy it. European units have 8,500 mAh, the India listing shows 9,000 mAh, and the cell is silicon-carbon. I couldn’t find a usable capacity figure, so I can’t say whether those ratings are typical or minimum values. Wired charging is 100W, with 27W reverse charging, and there is no wireless charging.
Poco claims 50% in 24 minutes. Notebookcheck measured 25 minutes to 50%, 45 minutes to 80% and 56 minutes to a full charge. The runtime figures come from different tests, so don’t line them up against each other. 91mobiles got 21.4 hours in PCMark on the India unit, while Notebookcheck got nearly 20 hours in its Wi-Fi test on the 8,500 mAh model. Charger inclusion varies: the Philippine retail box has none, but the India listing says one is provided. Poco says the battery keeps over 80% capacity after 1,600 cycles, yet Notebookcheck’s database lists 1,000 cycles, so the longevity claim is unconfirmed.
In Germany, the recommended price of Poco X8 Pro Max is €529.90 for 256 GB and €579.90 for 512 GB. Singapore pricing is S$589 and S$619. In India, the 12GB+256GB model was listed at ₹42,999 and the 12GB+512GB model at ₹48,999. I found no confirmed official US price, only import listings around $550. It suits someone who wants long battery life and strong sustained performance and can accept average cameras, since Notebookcheck says the cameras have stagnated. Inside the brand, the Poco X8 Pro sits below it with a 6,500 mAh battery.
The Poco F8 overlaps it: it has a smaller 7,700 mAh battery and a lower lowest India price, ₹37,990 against ₹45,999. For rivals, 91mobiles benchmarked it against the OnePlus 15R, and Smartprix pairs it with the Realme GT 7. I couldn’t confirm either price, and availability differs by region. The closest direct match is the iQOO 15R. On AnTuTu it scores 3,078,708 against the Poco’s 3,022,675, and in PCMark battery it lasts 18.4 hours against 21.4.
